Our Story

Owner Kevin Kerr has been in the landscaping business since he was 16 years old, working for his brother in Elizabethtown. At one time, after moving back to the Glasgow area, he worked a day job and did landscaping out of an office in his home. When Kevin and Lacey married in 2009, they both had a desire to own their own business. Kevin had a vision of opening a garden center to go with his landscaping business.

After some discussion and a whole lot of praying, they took the leap in the fall of 2012. They began the process with many sleepless nights and very little savings. With Glasgow growing, they thought it would be the perfect location for a new garden center. They found the location — their current location — and put the dream in motion.

In October 2012, they incorporated the business and began searching for vendors who would supply the best products at competitive prices. It was also somewhat of a challenge to transform an old welding shop into a garden center, but they did it. Actually, they have made improvements to the garden center each year and if you drive by, you’ll see they are continually making upgrades and improvements to better serve their customers.

After the garden center officially opened, Lacey took the big leap of faith to leave her public job and dedicate her time to growing the business alongside Kevin. With little experience running a business or operating the machinery needed at a garden center, needless to say, there were many mistakes made that first year. But both Lacey and Kevin were determined to make it work, and they worked to the best of their ability pouring their heart and soul into the new business. The two, only in their mid 20s, had to figure out a lot about running a business, managing employees and pleasing customers, but they were both dedicated to working day and night to get it done.

Mid-season of that first year, they found out they were expecting their first child. Unfortunately, eight months into the pregnancy, they were told baby Lydia didn’t have a heartbeat any longer. Lacey went through a C-section and jumped back into work to continue helping clients. Soon, the business began to grow and with God’s promise, they were blessed in the fall of 2014 with a healthy baby girl, Kendall, and four years later, a baby boy, Levi.

They say they have made many friendships along the way and can’t wait to see what blessings will come their way in the future. They also want to thank every single person that has come along on their journey by supporting small business and helping them succeed in their dreams.
